I am extremely excited to serve as the new Principal at Whitlock Junior High! As I learn more about the Whitlock community, I am thrilled by the overwhelming sense of pride and commitment of our students, parents, and community. Your friendly comments and welcoming gestures have been most appreciated.

 

I have lived in the Spartanburg community for the past 12 years and have had the opportunity to work with many of the students that attend this wonderful school. Most recently and over the past two years, I served as the principal of Fairforest Middle School. Before that I worked for three years as assistant principal at Dorman High School. In addition, I have worked six years as an intervention specialist, a guidance counselor, and as Assistant Director of the Spartanburg County Alternative School.

 

I am so excited about the opportunity to become part of change that will help showcase the strengths and abilities of our students, teachers and parents. I believe that all have a meaningful contribution to the education experience and I hope to develop an environment that promotes personal development, educational opportunity and academic excellence for all students.

 

I also believe that parent feedback is critical to the success of a school, so please don't hesitate to call on me with your ideas and suggestions. Please also plan to join us for our first PTO meeting. There are many exciting new school initiatives this year that I am eager to share with you.

 

I feel confident that we will have a school year filled with success and I look forward to working with you to make Whitlock Jr. High School one of the best in South Carolina.
